Abstract
In this masterclass, we will explore together the key principles and models to ensure a ‘fast flow,’ the condition needed to create and maintain an agile and ‘human’ organization that delivers digital services quickly and at scale.
‘Team Topologies,’ the book co-authored by Manuel Pais and Matthew Skelton, guides us towards radical changes to create multiple and continuous streams of software changes, executed safely and sustainably. By focusing on ‘fast flow’ and leveraging the models from ‘Team Topologies,’ particularly decoupling and service-centricity, you can achieve:
- increased financial efficiency,
- reduced time to value,
- improved ability to scale without slowdowns,
- enhanced ability to meet user needs,
- greater staff engagement
- increased overall organizational agility.
What you'll learn
Utilizing ‘fast flow’ as a key organizational principle leads to greater overall business agility, primarily because it encourages considering the decoupling of separate elements and the true value of what the organization offers. While it may not be the ultimate goal, ‘fast flow’ significantly helps the organization respond in an agile manner.
Why should you participate?
The masterclass will be an opportunity to discuss, including through real-world cases, the following topics:
- what are the architectural and software quality constraints imposed by Conway’s Law
- what are the implications and benefits of a team-based design approach versus a fragmented approach driven by the latest trends
- what is the expected capacity of a product team
- what are the maximum team sizes
- how to choose team topologies to accelerate and ensure delivery
- how to simplify and improve communication models between teams
- how to evolve team structures and interactions based on internal and external stimuli
